Emilio was born to Vittoria and Natalino in Oakland, California on July 23, 1924, and passed away on July 22, 2004 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. The family moved to Madera in 1925, where Emilio attended Pershing and Lincoln grammar schools, and he graduated from Madera High School in 1942. He then attended Fresno State College for six months before entering the U.S. Coast Guard on January 1, 1943. He was first stationed in Alameda before being transferred to San Francisco, and then he was assigned to a patrol boat, the USS Monterey in Alaska. He served for two years before returning home in August 1945. Shortly after returning home he married the former Olga Masasso on August 5, 1945. He owned and operated Armi?s Bar and after he sold it he went to work as a truck driver and warehouse manager for Madera Beverage Company for 15 years. He then went to work for Berberian Brothers wholesale liquor as a salesman and later a sales manager until his retirement in 1990. He was a charter member of the Madera Golf and Country Club, a charter and lifetime member of the Madera Elks Lodge, a member of the Y.M.I., and a lifetime member of VFW Post 1981. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years Olga, and granddaughter Haley. In 1999 following the death of his wife Olga, Emilio was asked by the Board of Directors of the Madera Cemetery District to fill her position as Trustee for the District. Emilio agreed and served with great dedication, and could be seen checking in on the activities at the District Office daily. He was well liked and respected not only by his fellow board members but also by all the employees of the cemeteries in the District.
He is survived by three sons, David and his wife Sue of Sacramento, Richard and his wife Donna of Fresno, and Stephen and his wife Linda of Sanger; his grandson David Jon of Sanger; sister-in-law Helen of Santa Rosa; niece Gina Albini and husband Frank and family from Montana; nephew Adolph Martinelli and wife Charlotte and family from Berkeley; cousins Delores Hartsell and daughters from Fresno; Bart Sciacqua Jr. and wife Margo and family from Madera, and many wonderful and special friends.
