GEORGE A. BARBER
George Anderson Barber, 77, Tolley Town, died at his home at 12:25 a.m. today after an extended illness.
Born April 15, 1883, at Oceana, a son of the late Joe and Martha Walker Barber. A retired farmer, Barber had lived in Raleigh County for the past 55 years. He was a member of the Lester First Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ella McGhee Barber; one daughter, Mrs. Clara Frew, Lester; one brother, Frank, Matheny; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Cook and Mrs. Botha Maynor, both of Oceana; Mrs. Lockie Cook, Hatcher, and Mrs. Stella Cook, Jesse; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Calfee Funeral Home pending completion of arrangements.

Funeral services for George Anderson Barber, 77 of Tolley Town will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lester First Church of God by the Rev. S. D. Wolford and the Rev. C. P. Conlez.
Burial will follow in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Anderson died Wednesday at his home after an extended illness. The body will be taken to the home in Tolley Town at 1:30 p.m. today from Calfee Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Claude Webb, Bill Tolley, Oley Lilly, Arvil Ferguson, and Steve Birchfield.
