Sheila's mother, Fae Evans (#131399046), died in 2008 of cancer. Fae was serving 13-30 years for child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter because she did nothing to keep her boyfriend, Ronald Phillips, from hurting Sheila. Phillips has a scheduled execution date of September 18, 2014.

Even though Sheila died under such horrible circumstances she is remembered with love by many who never had the chance to meet her. Her short life was hampered by tragedy that of which is unfathomable to believe, however, that is not the sum of who she was. Sheila was a loving child who deserved much better from those around her and hopefully she now has some peace. Let us learn the value of our children and the value of Sheila Marie Evans.
