Dean W. Anderson, 78, of Belvidere, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Born May 24, 1935, in Westby, WI; son of Arlo and Cora (Bakken) Anderson. Married Janet Brye on May 14, 1954, in Westby. Dean was a farmer and worked for Chrysler Corp for 34 years, retiring in 2000. Member of Zion Lutheran Church and NIVTEA. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Survived by his loving wife, Janet; children, Christine Martin of Belvidere, Chuck Anderson of Colfax, IL, Bryan Anderson of Holmen, WI, Kay Anderson of Duluth, GA, Doreen (Jim Stromski) Anderson of Milwaukee, WI, John (Andrea) Anderson of Rockford; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Calvin (Pat) Anderson, Janis Appleman, and Bonnie Anderson; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2013, in Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Dr. Karl Otto officiating. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. Visitation 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013, in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to Zion Lutheran Church or the NIVTEA Scholarship Fund.
