Obituary of Melissa Burdick
Spring Valley Sun
March 9, 1916
Mrs. Melissa Burdick

Mrs. Melissa Burdick died at her home in Spring Valley Friday, March 3rd, after a long illness. The funeral was held Sunday at the M. E. Church at New Centerville, and she was buried there beside her husband, son and two daughters who have preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn the loss of a good and loving mother four children - Henry Burdick, of Staples, Minn., Orville Burdick, of Spring Valley, Mrs. Ruth Lonergan of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Ida Zentzis, of New Centerville.

Mrs. Burdick has been a resident of Spring Valley many years; she has always been a hard-working woman, who has not taken part in the social affairs of the village, but her neighbors knew her as upright, kind, and in every way worthy woman.

She suffered much in her last illness through all was done for her that loving hands could do and death came as a release.
