The son of A. Thomas Biggers and Grace (Dowden) Biggers (later Carter), James resided on Dumesnil Street. He died at SS Mary & Elizabeth Hospital of burns sustained when his clothes caught fire after coming into contact with the stove, and was interred at St Louis on 28 January 1913.
