Police Party Given For Retiring Sergeant
A retirement party was conducted at police headquarters yesterday by fellow workers for Sgt. Harry E. Kemp. His retirement is effective today. Kemp, owner of the Cleaners at 4335 Euclid Ave. the Cleaners at 4335 Euclid Ave., the Cleaners at 4335 Euclid Ave., was appointed to the department August 16, 1940. He was promoted to sergeant Aug. 16, 1954.
He has worked in the patrol and traffic divisions and for the last 6 years has been assigned to the jail. Kemp is leaving this weekend for a fishing camp on the Gulf of California below San Felipe, Mexico. After camping and fishing trip he plans to devote full time to his business.
Kemp was commended several times for his initiative and efficiency beyond the routine of his regular duties.
