Daughter of Taylor Leasure/Laysure Bishop and his second wife, Mary Elizabeth Kidd. Virginia's siblings: Mitchell, Leroy, Catherline; half-siblings (mother Retta): Pinkney, Ottis, Meade, Romie, Marshal, Jennie, Helen.

OF INTEREST: Meade Bishop, Virginia's half-brother (same father), was informant for her death certificate. He also lost an infant daughter, Virginia Loretta Bishop, who was born and died just a few months before Virginia Lee. The younger may have been named for the elder infant aunt.
