3rd Lord Botreaux, of Bosacastle in Minster, Cornwall. Son and heir to Sir William Botreaux and Elizabeth de Saint Loe, grandson of Sir William de Botreaux and Elizabeth Daubeney, and John de Saint Loe and Margaret de Clyvedon.

Husband of Elizabeth Beaumont, daughter of Sir John Beaumont and Katherine Everingham. They were married before 1411 and had two sons, William and Reginald, and two daughters, Anne (wife of Sir John Stafford) and Margaret. Elizabeth died after 1426, and William married secondly to Margaret Roos, daughter of Sir William Roos, 8th Lord Roos, and Eleanor Beauchamp. He had no issue by this second marriage.

William was summoned to Parliament from 1412 to 1461. In 1415 he attended King Henry V on his expedition to France. In 1458 William gave his manor of Yeovilton in Somerset to Bath Priory. He died testate and was buried at Cadbury.
