Burl M. Batten, age 62, a fourth generation native of Hernando County, died Saturday, February 15, 2014. He loved his animals and enjoyed woodworking. He was a loving husband, brother and uncle, who had a great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Batten and mother, Estelle Batten; sister, Freida Moore and brothers, Kenneth and Quintin Batten.
He is survived by his wife Janet; and many family and friends.
Visitation for friends will be 5-7:00pm, Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am, Friday, February 21, 2014. Interment will follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
