OBITUARY - JASON ALEXANDER "JAKE" DANEK

ORLANDO, Fla.
#Jason Alexander "Jake" Danek, 38, passed away January 2, 2017 in Orlando. He was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1978 in Hinsdale, Ill. He moved to Orlando, Fla, with his family when he was four years old and lived there for the rest of his life.
#He was the son of George J. and Joyce M. (Pardon) Danek. He was the paternal grandson of the late Stanley A. and Mary Ann (Griffin) Danek and the maternal grandson of the late Horace E. and Mary (Tidwell) Pardon.
#Jason played the tuba in his middle school and high school bands. As a youth, he played Little League Baseball and was a Cub Scout, Webelos Scout, and Boy Scout. When he was older he enjoyed watching football and baseball games. He was a huge Cubs fan and was so excited when they won the 2016 World Series of Baseball.
#He loved cooking. He was a chef at several Orlando area establishments, including restaurants, country clubs and dinner shows, as well as, working with private caterers for special events. Jake was a person who never knew a stranger. He had a caring heart and was always concerned about and helpful to his family and friends.
#Jake loved to fish, and he loved to go to the beach, and he dearly loved his nephew, Zachary, who he was teaching to play baseball.
#In addition to his grandparents, Jake was predeceased by a brother, Daniel S. Danek; uncle Larry W. Pardon; uncle Stanley M. Danek (Carmela surviving).
#He is survived by his parents; brothers David G. Danek and Geoffrey G. Danek, sister, Amanda M. Danek (fiance Drew), and nephew, Zachary C. Shreffler; uncles, Robert E. (Sandi) Pardon, John P. (Carol) Danek, Charles M. Danek, Thomas A. Danek, and aunt Bette (Robert) Hertz.
#Jake thoroughly enjoyed family reunions and get-togethers through the years, many of which he, along with brother, Geoff, cooked for in recent years.
#Tuesday, June 27, 2017 a graveside funeral service for Jake Danek at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, Ill., was reverently and soulfully read by his cousins; Ann Danek, Joe Danek, Nick Danek, Rex and Lori (Danek) Stephens, Katie (Danek) Harfst, Jim and Julie (Danek) Nonnenmann and Andy and Jessica (Wieland) Danek.
