The first wife of George W. Dotson (1878-1926) was Nannie Lee Montgomery. (Nannie is thought to be the daughter of Archy Thomas and Sarah Turner Montgomery, of Bedford County, TN and Morgan County, AL. The 1900 Census gives a Jan. 1883 date of birth, while her death certificate suggests c1800. -- research by Betty Flowers)

[#Mrs. George Dotson died at her home in Pulaski Monday (Apr 19, 1909) after a brief illness and was buried at Mt. Moriah Tuesday. #Mrs. Dotson will be greatly missed by her husband, the popular carrier on the Minorhill mail route, and her death is especially sad as she is survived by three young children, the youngest being only a few days old. The family has much sympathy in their sorrow.]

[#Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Lee Pillow Dotson, 77, lifelong resident of Giles County, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at Bennett-May Funeral Home, conducted by C. R. Franks, minister of Second Street Church of Christ. Burial took place in Maplewood Cemetery. Mrs. Dotson died at noon on Sunday, June 4, at Maury County Hospital in Columbia, following a period of declining health. #Born January 31, 1884, in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Pillow and Samella Cashen (should be Cashion) Pillow. She was a member of Second Street Church of Christ. #Her husband, George Dotson, died February 16, 1926. #Mrs. Dotson is survived by two sons, Ewing Dotson, Pulaski, and H.D. Dotson, Selma, Ala.; three daughters, Mrs. Winston Stanford, Pulaski, Mrs. Harold Murphy, Columbia, and Miss Mary Louise Dotson, Nashville; one step-son, James Edward Dotson, Detroit, one step-daughter, Mrs. George Crews, Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Roy Pillow, Pulaski; and three sisters, Mrs. Ira Englett and Mrs. Joe Tidwell, Pulaski, and Mrs. J. D.
