Mr. Bailey was a veteran of the US Navy. He retired from Southern Gunite in Rocky Gap, VA. He was an elder in the Primitive Baptist Church for 36 years and loved serving the Lord. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Ruby F. Owens Bailey in 2005; one son, Kevin E. Bailey; and an infant great-grandchild.
Survivors include his second wife of seven years, Patty Bailey; one daughter, Beverly Quick and her husband Steve of Athens; one son, Teddy Bailey and his wife Linda of Speedway; five step-sons; two step-daughters; two brothers, O. Allen Bailey and his wife Sue of Westover, AL and Leland Bailey and his wife Terri of Princeton; five grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Elder Tommy Pack officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Family will serve as pallbearers.
