BREITWEISER, Fred L., born 23-10 1873, Delhi, Jersey County, Illinois, died 23-03-1952, buried Oak Grove Cemetery. Fred L. Breitweiser, 78 yrs, 5 mo, a well known farmer of the Delhi vicinity, died March 23, at his home. He had been in failing health for some time. The decedent was a son of the late Peter & Catherine (Youngblood) Breitweiser and was born near Delhi, Oct. 23, 1873. The aged man was a farmer and resided near Delhi for many years. Survivors are 5 sons, Dixon, Wood River, Edward, Frederick, Peter and Herbert Breitweiser of Jerseyville; 5 daughters, Mrs. Everett Chappell, Mrs. Victor Beiser, Misses Vida, Mary and Emma Breitweiser of Jerseyville and 4 grandchildren, Patsy, Vicki and John Breitweiser and Pvt Donald Chappell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Breitweiser, who died in 1950, and 2 sons, John who was killed in Italy in 1944, and Frank, whose death also occurred in 1944. Mr Breitweiser was the surviving member of a family of 13 children. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Mrs. Anna Goodman, and 11 brother, Pete, Charles, George, William, Henry, John, Frank, Robert, Thomas, Walter and Herman Breitweiser. Services were held at Peace Evangelical & Reformed church, Jerseyville with Rev. G. M. Bock officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery.
