On September 8, 1848, in Florence, Texas (Williamson County), Anna married Andrew Jackson Ashton, who was born March 6, 1822, in Franklin County, Georgia, the eldest child of Nathaniel Ashton and Cynthia Tucker. In the pension of Andrew J. Ashton he states he married Annie Middlebrook on 7 Dec. 18487 in Limestone Co.Tx. We have no marriage record for either date.
Anna and Andrew had at least 12 children: Nancy Minerva, William Henry, Joseph Jefferson, Mary Jane, Cynthia Ann, Bernetta Thrasie, Andrew Jackson, James, Byrd Ibzan, Ona "Onnie", Samuel Johnson, and Benjamin Franklin.
In 1870, the family was living in Florence, Texas (Williamson County)page 440 Andrew is working away from home, he is a Farrier, blacksmith,staying in home of James Dean. On page 454 Ann, age 35, was head of the household, living with her were 8 children: Mary Jane, age 14; Cynthia Ann, age 12, Bernetta, age 10; Andrew Jackson, age 8, James, age 3, Byrd Ibzan, age 1; and Onnie, age 2 months. In 1880, the family was living in Precinct 4, Texas (Williamson County). Listed in the household was Andrew, age 54, a farmer, born in Georgia; and his wife, Annie, age 43, born in Mississippi; and five siblings, all born in Texas: Andrew Jackson, age 18, a farm laborer; Virginia, age 13; Byrd Ibzan, age 11; Onnie, age 10; Samuel Johnson, age 8; and Benjamin Franklin, age 6.
Anna died November 23, 1898, and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery. Andrew died January 7, 1904, and was buried beside her.
