Dorothy Akin, 78 of Kellyville passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at her home in Kellyville, Oklahoma. She was born on April 13, 1933, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, to Delton Vernon and Opal Pearl Lake.

She married Clifford Akins on September 12,1953, in Kellyville. They had four daughters. She worked at Carl's Pig Stand, Dean's Steakhouse and Embassy Suites, but her real passion was cooking and feeding anyone and everyone that came to visit. She also made and sold her homemade bar-b-que sauce.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delton and Opal, and brothers, Gerald, Vernon and Kenneth.

Survived by her husband; four daughters; seven grandchildren; two sisters; several great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Lee and Walnut Church Of Christ, Sapulpa. Officiating will be the Reverends Glenn Zumalt and Gail Hammans.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
