CHILD EATS POISON TABLETS

Eldorado McDaniel, four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.F. McDaniel, who reside two miles north of Nowata, died Friday afternoon at 5:30p.m. from strychnine poisoning. The little girl was left at home with her grandfather, D. Yocham, who has been in ill health and who has been taking strychnine tablets as a stimulant. Friday afternoon he took one of the tablets and placed the bottle containing the tablets on a table. The little girl found the tablets and thinking they were candy and ate about a dozen. When the father reached home about four o'clock he found his daughter suffering from the effects of the poison and immediately brought her to the office of a local physician. However, the deadly poison had time to get in its work, and there was no chance to save the little girl's life. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon and interment made in Coker Cemetery, three miles south of Coody's Bluff, under the direction of R. W. Benjamin.
