After moving from Sargent, Nebraska to Haverhill, KS. Clin attended Haverhill School. Around 1918, the family where forced to move to Scott City after Fannie became ill. Clin graduated from the High School in Scott City,class of 1920. She enrolled at Fairmount College in Wichita, KS. After two years she taught 3-5th grades at Haverhill School. October of 1924 she boarded a train headed for Chicago.Clin attended the University of Chicago. It was there she met her future husband Bill Burchill. The couple moved from Chicago to Augusta, KS. in 1937 and opened the Birch-Hill dining room in the Augusta Hotel on Sept 1, 1937. Clin spent her life in food, catering while Bill helped her in the hotel, Bill was a small business man and had many jobs over the years. The couple had one son Brower Burchill born 1938. Bill later managed the American Legion in El Dorado. Clin served dinners in the Legion Hall. Later on Clin ran the kitchens for a retirement home for a few years and ran food service at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado. The family moved to El Dorado in 1941. Clin had a thriving business over the years serving groups in their El Dorado home, especially on holidays,groups of physicians came often because the liked her "baked steak".

Bill's largest work endeavor was his ownership of a music store in downtown El Dorado. He could play any instrument, and he could repair all instruments. Bill kept the instruments of the local school kids in working order for many years. Bill organized and played in boy scout bands (saxaphone) as a youth, he played bass drum in the El Dorado city band for 50 years. The only tape recording he ever made was for Brower Burchill-playing the saw. Bill was unique in that the saw is not a common instrument.
