Jerry Elvin Beavers was born on February 8, 1945 in Boone County, Harrison, Arkansas to Arthur Layfette and Emma Brewer Beavers. He was raised on a farm with seven older siblings and taught the meaning of hard work. He passed away February 18, 2017, on his ranch he called "Paradise".
In January 1984, Jerry met his true love and soul mate, Sandra Millner, at a hockey game in Kansas City, Missouri. They were attending a function for the Kansas City Skyliners, a social club for tall people. They were married in May 1984 at the Beacon Heights Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Independence, Missouri.
Jerry worked for RMF Steel Company in Grandview, Missouri for 25 years, until his move to Austin, Texas in May 1985. He worked for Lockheed Missiles as a quality control inspector on the newly designed Aquila planes. His long hours and hard work earned him employee of the year on three different occasions. He ended his career at Syncro Vac in Elgin, Texas in 2000.
Most people knew it, but Jerry was a big sport enthusiast - especially a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs NFL football team and an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals baseball team. Most importantly in life was his love for our Heavenly Father and grateful for the many blessings received during his lifetime.
Jerry had an esophageal rupture in April 2007 and thanks to Dr. Stephan Dewan he survived, but spent many months in the hospital. Our sincere thanks to cardiologist Dr. Paul Tucker for his personal and attentive care.
Most of all, our thanks to Dr. Gregory Marchand and his staff of professionals. They were like family to Jerry - taking care of him for over 25 years! Needless to say, our deepest gratitude is to Dr. Marchand for always being there for him.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifton Beavers, Brice Beavers, Carl Beavers, and sisters, MaryLea Jacks and Ola Rene Haddican. He is survived by his remaining sister Lamona Sue Russell of Lee's Summit, Missouri.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Sandra Millner-Beavers. Jerry has two children that survive him from his first marriage, Lisa Dawn Jacobs (Tom), Liberty, Missouri, and Christopher Alan Beavers, of Kansas City, Missouri. Last but not least, he will be dearly missed by all of his kitties, the Beavers' Munchkins, especially Alley and Muffin.
At Jerry's request he will be cremated and his ashes will be buried at the Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, next to in-laws, Herman and Fay Millner. There are no services planned.
