Malcolm Wilson "Mack" Alexander, Sr., age 96, of Carrollton, died April 26, 2009, at Pickens County Medical Center. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. today, April 28, 2009, at Carrollton United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Hammons officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following the service at the church. A private graveside service was held at Carrollton City Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ervie J. "Dutch" Alexander; his parents; two brothers, Hubert Alexander and Robert M. Alexander, II; and one sister, Ellen A. McPherson.

Survivors include his daughter, Claudia A. Lewis (Joe) of Aliceville, Ala.; his sons, Malcolm Wilson Alexander, Jr. of Fairhope, Ala. and John Cary Alexander (Becky) of Huntsville, Ala.; five grandchildren, David M. Lewis (Kiki), Susan L. Wells (John), Scott W. Alexander (Mary), Todd G. Alexander (Meg), and Carrie A. Bates (Jack); and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Alexander was born April 4, 1913, in Clarke County, Mississippi to the late Robert Milton Alexander and Edna Crawford Alexander. He was a member of Carrollton United Methodist Church, a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and a U.S. Army veteran.
