Survived by wife of 58 years, Frances Smith Binns, daughter Carolyn Binns Brown (Ron); grandchildren David Brown (Tennille), Jason Brown and Julie Brown Booker (Chris); great grandchildren, Taylor Brown, Callie Norwood, Victoria Brown and William Brown; sister Janet Binns Williams.
David grew up in Nashville, graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1948 and received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
David loved and worked in the communications/technology industry most of his life, starting as an engineer for radio station WLAC AM in Nashville. He enjoyed a successful career in many sales and engineering positions. He was a licensed pilot, loved ham radio and exploring new technology. His callsign was W5VXI.
