Bruce was born to the late Lela Mae Sparks-Blackmore and William Simeon Blackmore at the family homestead in the Royal Valley Community near Lusk Wyoming. He was the tenth of their twelve children. He attended the Royal Valley Community School and graduated from Lusk High School with the class of 1940.
He is survived by his wife Loretta Blackmore, one sister Anne Mae Lint, four children Anthony (Tony) Wayne Blackmore, Ronald Gene Blackmore, Cindy Rae Rushing, Janet Leigh Martin, two step children Robert Davila, Barbara Davila, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great- grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Bruce was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. He had and extensive career in the telecommunication field, retiring from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Bruce was a thirty second degree Mason and a Shriner. He was an active member of Northview Baptist Church of Lewisville, Texas. His hobbies included bowling and golfing, he participated in many tournaments.
He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
