Elmer Carl Zachreson, age 86, passed away Dec. 8, 2003 in Salt Lake City.

He was born Oct. 12, 1917 in Salt Lake City, to Carl Oscar and Emma Paul Gerrard Zachreson. Married Ellen Mary Hughes on March 16, 1937 in Farmington, Utah, later divorced. He then married Alice June Lorenzen Little on Dec. 16, 1950 in Reno, Nevada.

He was a member of the LDS Church. Elmer worked 35 years for Robert Taylor & Sons as foreman and shop superintendent and was a member of the Board of Directors and an adviser on the profit-sharing board.

He enlisted in the US Naval Service in World War II and was a Machinists-mate second class. Elmer loved all sports and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed baseball and liked to golf and bowl.

He especially loved his garden every year that he shared with all the family and neighbors.

Survived by his son, Neil Elmer (Marilyn) Zachreson of Arvada, Colorado; stepson, Donald Truman (Linda) Little of Taylorsville, Utah.; three grandchildren, Shelly (Tom) Geirwatoski, DeAnna (Gordon) Glenn, and Todd (Shelly) Little; nine Great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, John R. Lorenzen of Lakewood, Washington, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, June; two sisters and one brother, Theora Witt, Hazel Fredrickson and Glen Zachreson.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Dec. 12, at 1:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and N Street. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple St., on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 11:30-12:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
