Mrs. Wetherington, a native of Greenville, Mississippi, daughter of Mrs. Eleanor Estess of Lake City and Mr. Tallmadge Lee Estess of Tupelo, Mississippi, both survive.
She attended Columbia High School graduating with the class of 1964. She was a member of Bethel Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother and father are her maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. C Leslie Owens of Lake City.

Mr. & Mrs. Wetheringtion lived in Orlando and Gainesville, where they were attending school and made their home on Rt 2, Lake City.

The Salutatorian of Columbia High School in June 1964 and her husband, were killed instantly Saturday afternoon (Dec 26) in a two car accident 3.1 miles south of the city.

Lydia loved God, her family and her church. She had been active in Bethel's Methodist Youth Fellowship program, Girl Scouts, 4-H, a member of The National Honor Society, National Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Club, a recipient of the American Legion School Award, recognized by many for her straight "A's", listed in the top 10% of students in Florida and of course Salutatorian.
