She married Lemeul C Owens on March 14, 1917 at her parents home. Her life was dedicated to her God, her family, and education. She was a teacher in the Florida schools for 39 years and her husband "Lem" served on the Columbia County School Board for 26 years. They were members of the Evergreen Baptist Church in their early years and later became members of Bethel United Methodist Church.
They were not blessed with children but, had many nieces and nephews and cousins who will remember them fondly.
Funeral services were held at Bethel United Methodist with interment following in the Church's Cemetery.
