Julia Mae Beechner

Julia Mae "Judy" Beechner, 80, of Moline,KS died Sunday, March 30, 2008. She was born May 18, 1927 West Fork, (Washington County) Arkansas, the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt and Ester Anias (Owings) McDonald.

Judy graduated from St. Paul High School, St Paul AR in 1945. After years of living in the Kansas City and Wichita area she moved to Southeast Kansas in 1969, making her home in and around the communities of Moline and Howard. Judy was an advisor for the Elk County Extension Service and served as a member and an officer of the Cattlewomens Association of Elk County, and the State of Kansas.

Judy was owner and operator of the Curly Q Restaurant in Moline, KS for seven years. She prepared food for many local PRIDE dinners, weddings, and reunions. She was a tremendous cook and baker and loved watching people enjoy her meals. She was well known for her pan fried chicken and homemade pies.

On April 24, 2004 she married Henry Beechner, he survives at their home.

Brother: Theodore McDonald Kansas City, MO

Three Grandchildren: Krystyn Riddle, J. Scott Riddle and Wife Kimberly and

Timothy Riddle and wife Julie: all in the Kansas City, area.

Two Great Grandchildren: James and Blake Riddle

Extended Family Include: Mary Boring, Elizabeth Sinsel, Marsha Allen and her family.

Graveside Services will be held Friday April 4, 2008 at the Moline City Cemetery at 11:00 am, with Pastor Gary Parsons officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to the service at the Moline Methodist Church. The family suggests memorial contribution to the Youthville Organization or Moline United Methodist Women, and can be mailed to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O. Box 247 Fredonia, KS 66736. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. Arrangements are being handled by Zimmerman Funeral Home, Howard.
