William Joseph Burns, 72, also known as "Brillo" to many of his friends, died from heart failure in the early morning hours of March 2, 2016.
Joe was born April 14, 1943 to William Joseph "Bill" Burns and Rosetta Bulger Burns in Independence, Kansas. He worked in sales for Procter and Gamble for 32 years, retiring in 2001. He worked at Reeds IGA in Independence Kansas before joining Procter and Gamble in 1968.
He raised his family in Joplin, Missouri, and was an active member of the community. He enjoyed serving as the district commissioner for the Babe Ruth Baseball League. He was also an active member of the Joplin Elks Lodge and served on the parks and recreation . Joe moved to Tulsa and made that city their home for almost 30 years. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, cruising, and college football. He was loved and respected by his co workers at P&G.
