She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Walburg, TX. On August 5, 1940, she married the love of her life, Martin J. Anderegg, who preceded her in death on August 7, 2000. Loriena and Martin were deeply devoted to each other with God as the center of their lives. She graduated from Georgetown High School in 1928. Immediately after graduation, she accepted a position at the Walburg State Bank where she began her career in banking. She also held positions at banks in San Antonio, TX and Omaha, NE. After moving to Dallas, TX she worked for 23 years for a mortgage loan bank attaining the position of vice president of accounting. She retired from banking in 1976. Loriena and Martin moved back to Loriena's childhood home in Walburg, TX. They were actively involved in the community association in Walburg where she held the position of secretary/treasurer. Loriena was a deeply religious person. Throughout her life she lived her faith by being actively involved in the Lutheran churches where she lived. Loriena played the organ, sang in the choir and volunteered as a Sunday school teacher. She served on numerous church committees including building, finance, and evangelism. Music played a big part in Loriena's life. Having learned to play the piano at the age of 14, she entertained many friends at her parent's home. She also played for social gatherings and weddings. Many friends and family were recipients of her gracious hospitality with Christmas being her favorite time to entertain. Throughout her life, Loriena enjoyed gardening, especially after retirement when she planted 600 calcium bulbs and 400 tulip and daffodil bulbs. When in bloom, the flowers were enjoyed by the entire community. Loriena was always interested in the world around her. Due to macular degeneration, she kept informed by listening to her favorite talk radio programs, especially those relating to health issues and world affairs. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers: Odes, Leon and Benny Tonn and two sisters, Elsie Bredthauer and Alice Homeyer and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. Loriena is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
