Otha Pauline Barker, 84, of Jarrell, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 with her family at her side. Lovingly known to most as Polly, she will be truly missed. Visitation was held on Sunday, Nov 11, 3012 from 3:00 to 4:00 in the Chapel. Interment was held privately at a later date; Polly was laid to rest beside her husband, Walter Joseph Barker, in the Berry's Creek Cemetery.

Polly was born February 25, 1928 in Jarrell at the family home to the late George Washington Glasscock and Otha Lorena "Babe" Owens Whitfield. Polly spent her whole life in the Jarrell and Georgetown area, and attended Georgetown High School. Polly enjoyed reading and watching old western movies. Polly met the love of her life, Joe Barker, and they were married on March 7, 1947. They built their life and their family together in the Williamson County area. They were long-time members of First Assembly of God in Georgetown and more recently attended Faith Tabernacle in Jarrell. Polly had an artistic nature, she enjoyed painting, crocheting, jewelry making, and doll making and collecting. Polly is preceded in death by her parents, George and Babe Whitfield her husband of 63 years, Walter Joe Barker, her daughter, Linda Barker Mendez, her sisters, Joyce Taylor and Juanita Taylor; and her brother, G.W. Whitfield.

Polly is survived by her children, Sue Van Noy and her husband Anthony, Kathryne Snodgrass and her husband David, Mary Dubey and her husband Larry, and Beth Montgomery and her husband Donald; her 12 grandchildren and her 11 great grandchildren with three more on the way; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
