According to his 1918 Draft Registration Card, Maxie was an "insane epileptic." On the 1910 Census he was living in a "Hospital for the Insane" near his father in Norman Oklahoma. By 1918 he was living in Pulaski with his mother and his grandparents. He died in 1925 of an epileptic seizure.
