Born Aug. 2, 1942 in Sussex County, she was the daughter of the late Sallie Griffin of Richmond, Va., and the late John Griffin.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two brothers, devoted John "Robert" Griffin of Stony Creek, and Earl Griffin (Jackie) of Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Dorothy Davis (Richard) of Henrico, Va., Phyliss Washington (Randolph) of Hopewell, Va., and Frances Smith of Emporia; three aunts, Susie Pulliam of Stony Creek, Catherine Parham of Richmond, Va., Lucille Flower of Richmond, Va.; one uncle, Miles Brown of Petersburg, Va.; devoted caregivers, Vonitina Gibson, Gail Jones, Mary Bailey, Ada Flowers, Wendy Branch and Charlie Shine.
