Frank L. Bandura, 99, of Ottawa and formerly of Streator passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home in Ottawa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Jacob Rose will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Monday at the funeral home in Streator.
Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Brian and Michael Bandura; great grandson, Nathan Bandura; nephews, Dan and Dave Bandura; and grandson in law, Wesley Beltran.
Born December 4, 1916 in Streator he was the son of Stainslow and Michalena (Mucha) Bandura. He married Ann M. Elko on April 16, 1940 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. She preceded him in death on October 6, 2011.
He is survived by daughters, Patricia (Jack) Malley of El Paso, Texas and Carol Mossey of Ottawa; a son, Francis (Barbara) Bandura of Streator; grandchildren, Brian (Jamie Grant) Bandura of Wadsworth, Ohio, Michael (Kimberly) Bandura of Naperville, Katherine (Dave) Schierenbeck of Hudson, Ohio, Jennifer (Jaime) Lowenberg of El Paso, Texas and Julie (Wesley) Beltran of Round Lake Beach; great grandchildren, Kiersten and Dan Scheierenbeck, Nathan, Samantha, Taylor and Mackenzie Bandura, Ariana and Jaime Lowenberg; step-grandchildren, Tim Mossey of Atlanta, Georgia and Brett (Lynn) Carroll of Ottawa; step-great grandchildren, Kylie, John and Darby Carroll; sisters, Sophie Bradach and Marion Gould both of Streator; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters, Antonia “Toni” Hamara and Helen Grygiel; brothers, Stephen, Victor, Stanley Jr. and John “Zeke” Bandura.
Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Casimir’s Grade School.
He worked for Thatcher’s Glass Manufacturing in the Mold Repair Shop from 1936 until his retirement on December 31, 1979.
He was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
