Obituary for Peggy Ann Berry
Peggy Ann Berry, age 88, passed to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the home of Jimmy and Barbara Kennedy of Scottsboro, Alabama. Jimmy and Barbara, with their family April and granddaughter Emileigh, have lovingly provided care for Peggy over the past several years.
Peggy was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Robert and Madeline Bailey and was the youngest of three sisters.
She has three biological children, Thomas Griner of Springfield, IL; Edith Hennington of Wichita, Texas; and Robert Griner (deceased). She has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Peggy was married to Leonard Berry (deceased) and over the years enjoyed the friendship of Leonard’s four children; Michael Berry, Susan Berry, Dan Berry and Cris Berry.
From a very early age Peggy loved to dance, became a master of the dance, and spent most of her adult life providing dance instructions. Until her death, she still moved her toes and shoulders to anyone singing a dance tune. Peggy has always nourished those around her with love, faithfulness, and wit. One of the great joys of her later life was her involvement in the House Prayer Church on Crow Mountain, Alabama. She thrived with this loving community of Christians under the leadership of Pastor Jimmy Bohannon.
Visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2017 from 6-8PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro. The Funeral service viewing is Saturday February 18, from 11AM -12PM at the House of Prayer with Pastor Jimmy Bohannon officiating, and followed by a service and burial at the Austell (Crow Mountain) Cemetery.
Peggy passed peacefully concluding her earthly adventure. Now, she is about an even greater adventure in the kingdom of God. Condolences may be made at www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
