Harvey graduated from Bluffs High School in 1948. He helped his dad on the farm until entering the United States Army, where he served from 1951 until 1953. While in the service, he was stationed in Korea during the Korean War serving as a bulldozer operator for building airports. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he went back to farming and raising livestock. Harvey 'lived' to farm. He and Joanne moved into their present home in 1958 and Harvey continued to farm until his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antique tools. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who meant the world to him.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Andres; one son, Dan Andres of Winchester; a daughter, Deanna (Brad) Bell of Roodhouse; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Michelle) Andres of Jacksonville, Heather Kunkel of Bluffs, Kyle (Jennifer) Andres of Naples, and Deelany Bell of Roodhouse; a sister, Bonnie (Thomas Rogers) Jefferson of Roodhouse; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Morgan Bell; and one infant sister, Neva Jane.
Per his wishes, there will be no services at this time. Memorials are suggested to the Scott County Animal Rescue.
