Obituary from the Fairbanks, Alaska "Daily News-Miner" newspaper, dated Friday, April 12, 2013, page B-2:

Carla Rae (Motschenbacher) Bergee, 48, passed away April 8, 2013, in Great Falls, Montana. Carla was born January 28, 1965, in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Carla loved to bake and cook for everyone. She would open her door to anyone in need and was always willing to help others. She made everyone feel welcome and truly enjoyed taking care of people. Carla thought the world of her son, Dusty, and was so proud of him. He has been working in Afghanistan the past two years as an electrician. A great joy in her life were her many cats and dogs, which she loved dearly. Carla's pets were very important to her.

Carla worked on the board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Great Falls and volunteered for many other organizations in Fairbanks and Great Falls.

Carla worked for Wedbush Morgan Securities in Fairbanks for many years before moving to Great Falls in 2002, where she continued to work in the financial field.

Carla is survived by her son, Dusty Bergee, Bagram Air Force Base, Afghanistan; father, Nick Motschenbacher, Fairbanks; mother, Virginia (Ron) Olson, Dilworth, Minn.; stepmother, Sandi Motschenbacher, Great Falls; grandmother, Margaret Swenson, Moorhead; sisters, Karen Motschenbacher, Brittney Motschenbacher, Fairbanks, Nicole Motschenbacher, Great Falls; brothers, Kevin (Lindsey) Olson, Otsego, Minn., Matthew Motschenbacher, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; nephews, Dillon Manns, Hudson Olson; nieces, Hanley Olson, Heather Seek; many aunts, uncles and cousins; her dear friend Tina Cubbage; many kind caring and helpful neighbors in Great Falls; Dr. Harkness, and of course her pets, Max and Winnie.

Carla was preceded in death by her grandfather, Paul Motschenbacher Sr.; grandmother, Florence Motschenbacher, and grandfather, Arnt Swenson.

Carla asked that her ashes be spread this summer at the Gerstle River near Fairbanks, where she enjoyed going on four-wheeling and camping trips. Services will be held at a later date. Published in Daily News-Miner on April 12, 2013
