Fairbanks resident Louise Alberta Burns, 75, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. A native of Naples, N.Y., Louise was the daughter of Laverne and Myrtle Donley. After moving to Alaska in 1976, Louise decided to make Fairbanks her home. She worked as a certified nurse's aide for 20 years at Careage North/Denali Center until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, writing and painting. The family stated that "Louise was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all." Her parents and a son, Robin Burns, preceded her in death. She is survived by five sons, Charles Burns of Tennessee, Kevin Burns of Alaska, Peter Burns of Seattle, Jon Burns of Fairbanks and Patric Burns of Fairbanks; three daughters-in-law, Katie Burns of Tennessee and Kim and Mariah Burns of Fairbanks; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 31, at Two Rivers Lodge, 16 Mile Chena Hot Springs Road. Services were provided by Fairbanks Funeral Home.
