Bob was a graduate of San Dieguito High School and the University of Southern California and served four years in the U.S. Air Force. A 30 year resident of Oceanside, CA he was the owner of Hobie Cat of Oceanside, a retail surf and sail shop formerly located on South Hill Street. A Hobie Cat 18 sailor, he was ranked #2 in the world in that sailing class. He was a member of the Oceanside Surf Club and a 20 year volunteer with the South Bay Rehabilitation Center in National City, CA for which he received the Rehabilitation Recognition Award. Bob lost his battle with cancer at the La Paloma Healthcare Center in Oceanside.
