Nonetheless, William married Agnes C Dixon shortly before his 21st birthday on 7 Nov 1897. The couple lived for many years in Manhattan (1900 Federal Census, 1905 NY State Census, and 1910 Federal Census) where William plied his trade as a painter and opened a retail hardware store.
Before moving to New Jersey, the couple added two daughters to their family: Leslie A (1912) and Isabelle (1914). William was in his mid-thirties by this time but moved his family and business to Hackensack, where the family appears on the 1920, 1930, and 1940 census records.
He died on Sunday, 20 April 1952, and was buried on Wednesday, 23 April, leaving behind his wife and daughters.
