Jean Baptiste Joseph Parisot was born in Villafans, France and baptised there July 6, 1841. He came to America about age 10 with his parents, Claude Parisot and Jeanne Marie Callier. Joseph served during the Civil War in Company C of the 44th Indiana Volunteers.

Following is Joseph's obituary provided by contributor Karin King (47469179):

Joseph Parisot, 74 years of age, a retired Wabash railroad man, died Sunday morning at his home, 514 Buchanan St., after a short illness with apoplexy. The decedent was born in France, but came to this country when he was 10 years of age. For 27 years he served as foreman in the Wabash freight yard. He was a charter member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and of the Holy Name Society of that church. He served in the civil war in the 44th Indiana regiment.
He leaves the wife and the following children: Alex J., Edward F. and Clara Parisot.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the residence and at 9:00 from St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will be made at the Catholic Cemetery. Friends have been asked to omit flowers.
