David was a well-known Los Angeles musician, composer and songwriter with several gold and platinum albums and compositions on dozens of recordings. He was also a partner in Soul Surfer Records. Music and family were David's life. David was a devoted father, who is survived by his beloved daughter Zoe, the light of his life; his parents, Arlene Sarner and music producer Bob Ezrin; his devoted step-parents Jerry Leichtling, Fran Ezrin and Janet Ezrin; his loving siblings, half-siblings and step-siblings: Joshua Ezrin, Sarah Ezrin, Daniel Leichtling, Geoffrey and Jennifer Repo; and his grandparents Calvin and Geraldine Ezrin. David was especially close to his aunts Judith Ezrin and Joanna Schauer (nee Ezrin), and his uncle Joseph Vankay all of whom were just a few years older than him and were more like siblings than aunts/uncles. He was also very close to his cousins Randi Aichel and Jeremy Rubolino and so many other family members. This large family beginning with Zoe and radiating outward to all of its extensions was David's greatest pride, his comfort and his safety. A service was held in Los Angeles on December 7, 2008. David was a supporter of the efforts of the MusiCares Foundation, a charitable arm of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
