Ed grew up in Tuscaloosa and moved to Sheffield, Alabama in the 1950's. He found employment with the Reynolds Metals Company and worked on the Redstone and Jupiter-C missile programs. In the 1960's, his career expanded into the construction field, where he worked as a journeyman millwright through Carpenters Local Union #109. In 1976, he was hired by Ford Motor Company in Sheffield and served as a maintenance supervisor until the plant's closure in 1983. Returning to the construction field, he traveled and worked throughout the eastern United States until his retirement in 1993. Eddie will be remembered as a hard dedicated worker, who could always be counted on to generate a smile and chuckle at the job site. He was devoted to his family and friends.
