Jose "Indio" Alvarez was born on November 16, 1951 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, to Catalina (Aguilar) and Manuel Alvarez. He married Beatriz Aguirre on February 19, 1993 in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 23 years; three sons, David Polanco and wife, Cynthia, of Hondo, Simon Alvarez and wife, Isabel Ponce, and Adam Alvarez and wife, Lizette, all of Uvalde; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend, Fidencio Rivera. Alvarez was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Joey Alvarez and Jaime Polanco.
