Biography of Lemuel Tucker from the 1892 Atlas of Paulding County, Ohio.
Lemuel Tucker, now deceased, one of the early settlers of Paulding County, Ohio, was born in Harrison County, Va., in 1804.He moved from Virginia to Allen County, Ohio, where his was one of eleven white families, thence to Hardin County, Ohio, and from there to Latty Twp., Paulding County,(Ohio), in 1856. He purchased eighty acres of land in Latty, and after he had cleared the same he discovered that he had established himself upon the wrong ground and so lost it. He then removed to the place his deed called for, and improved it. As a democrat in politics he filled the position of township trustee for many years. His wife who was Miss Maria(h) Walton, bore him eight children: Sarah deceased, Mary E.deceased, Hannah E., wife of William Priest, Catherine, wife of B.(Burrell)Bales, John L., Paris, and Joseph Samuel. The death of Lemuel Tucker occured in 1881, and his widow who survives him resides with her daughter, Mrs. Priest.
