World War I United States Army Soldier. A native of Camden, New Jersey, he served in the United States Army during World War I as a Private First Class in the 307th Field Artillery Regiment, 78th Division, AEF. He was killed in action in France on October 23, 1918.

He lies today buried in Plot F, Row 32, Grave 35 of the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, Romagne, France.

A cenotaph was erected for him in his family's plot in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, Camden County, New Jersey.
