Steven Christofferson, of Cudahy, Wisconsin. He was a 2006 graduate of Cudahy High School where he played football, ran track and wrestled. A friendly, likable young man, he always spoke his mind. Steven really liked cars and planned on opening an auto repair shop with his younger brother someday. He was excited about serving his country, being part of the military, following the footsteps of his parents- his mother served for ten years in the Air Force and his father is in the Army stationed in Egypt. Steven entered the Army a week after graduating from high school and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), at Fort Campbell in October 2006. He was deployed to Iraq in September, 2007, and died in Bayji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. His awards and decorations include: National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; and Weapons Qualification, M4, expert. He is survived by his mother, Michell Christofferson, of Cudahy; father, Jeffrey Christofferson; brothers, Dakota and Dillon Christofferson; grandfather Joe Gervasio; aunt Monique (Dennis) Nimphius; cousins Kylie, Austin, Tanner and Jessica and his beloved Bear, Tucker and Jake. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ruth Tavidian (1940-1998) and Monog Tavidian (1933-1992). Bio by: Sue
