Ross Charles Hewson 1919-2000
LARNED - Ross Charles Hewson, 81, died Dec. 26 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus in Larned. He was born Sept. 6, 1919, at Larned, the son of Arthur Winfield and Myrtle Clarkson Hewson. He married Genevieve Hunsley May 22, 1943, at Wichita. A lifetime resident of Larned, he was an engineer for Larned State Hospital.Hewson was a member of United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Larned. Survivors include his wife; one son, Steve Hewson of Denver, Colo.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Hewson and Glenn Hewson; and two sisters, Alma Kidwell and Clara Foss. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned with the Rev. Bill Stapleton officiating. Burial will be at Larned Cemetery. Friends may call until 8 tonight, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, all at the mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the mortuary.
