Transferred to Company E at an unrecorded date, he served in the cavalry regiment until January 1, 1865, when he was mustered out of the 3rd New Jersey Cavalry, and mustered in as a Private in the 239th Company, 1st Battalion, Veterans Reserve Corps. He then served until honorably mustered out.
On April 6, 1876 he filed for a US Army Invalid Veteran Pension (Application #216773, Certificate #188526).
