Shirley Jane Collier Berry, 68, of Madison County, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at home.

She was born on March 15, 1943, in Greene County, to Amos H. Collier Sr. and Blanche M. Morris Collier. She was preceded in death by Amos and Blanche; her stepfather, Sim B. Collier; her sister, Kathleen; half brother, Thomas; and step-brother, Thomas Roach.

She is survived by her one and only, husband, Douglas M. Berry. They were married for 49 years. She is also survived her three sons, D.J. and wife, Sheila, James and wife, Brandy, all of Madison and David and fiancee, Sarah Keller, of Edinburg, Virginia; one sister, Pauline C. Clatterbuck and husband, Billy; two brothers, Amos Collier Jr. and wife, Nancy, all of Brightwood, and Larry Collier of Charlotte, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Stephanie B. Jenkins and husband, Jeff, of Madison, and Katie Berry of Madison; and one great-grandson, Isaiah Kenney.

Many thanks to her dear sister-in-law, Juanita B. Grymes, husband, John, and sons, Joe and John Jr., and beloved friends, Paul and Toni Fincham, Ray and Ida Johnson, Bill and Donna Hill, Gwen Skinner; and all her friends too numerous to mention. Thanks also goes out to the Hospice of Rapidan for all their care and support. All the friends who prayed for her during her illness.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Oak Park, Virginia. Her family received friends at the church followed by the service conducted by Pastor Adam Miceberger. Burial at the cemetery at home.
