Nancy was born abt. 1792 in Montgomery County, Kentucky the daughter of Thomas Beatty and Sarah Turner. She married Joseph See abt. 1812 in Montgomery County, Kentucky. Nancy is found as Baty and Beatty, but the See family used the spellings Batty and Baty most frequently.

Will of Thomas Beatty Montgomery County, Kentucky Nov 1817:
My sons Thomas and William on conditions they pay unto by beloved daughter Nancy See one hundred dollars which they Thomas and William are jointly to pay each on moiety of that sum eighteen months after my decease.
And also give unto my beloved daughter Nancy See my wagon and hind gear my last gray mare and my bald filly and also one of my red cows and also four of my sheep ewes, and one brown mare. And further my son-in-law, Joseph See, is to continue in proprietor where he lives now and to ground he cultivated together with the big Spring field for the term of three years after my decease and then to be given up to other heirs. Probate Jun 1818.

After the death of her parents they traveled from Montgomery County, Kentucky along with other family members settling the Indiana territory in the 1820s. Joseph and Nancy moved on to Monroe County, Indiana and settled in the Clear Creek area.

Nancy died between 1840-1846 in Clear Creek. Another wife released dower on a deed sold in Monroe County in April 1847. Many of her children married and remained settled in the area. Joseph died in Livingston County, Missouri in 1852. Nancy and Joseph had twelve known children.
