Cpl. Lance Thompson of Marion, Indiana died in an explosion in Ar-Ramadi Iraq.

He was born in Muncie Indiana to Gregory Thompson and Melanie Reese. He grew up in the Grant County area and graduated from Eastbrook High School with the Class of 2001.

He also joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2001 and was on his second tour of duty in Iraq.

He married Dawn Case of Van Buren, Indiana in 2002. She survives in Oceanside, California.
